Youth dies due to torture by Yuva Morcha and police

Agartala, Sep 13 (FD) If the Yuva Morcha, the youth wing of the ruling BJP and the police, which often turns unsocial element in uniform is turning to be a rogue force in Tripura?

The question comes to the fore when police and a section of Yuva Morcha were accused of torturing a young man to death inside the police station only because she loved a girl.

One Gautam Das (22) of Amarpur Chelagang of Gomati district eloped with an adult girl of Aravinda Colony area of Naturnbazar police station area on Sunday last. They were in relation for long time.

Accordingly Guardian of the girl filed an FIR at Naturnbazar police station, but they could not trace the girl.

It is alleged that the police and a section of Yuva Morcha activists became active to find out the girl after they received huge cash as bribes from the girl’s family.

Finally the girl and her husband were arrested from the house of the uncle of the Youngman from Sabroom then beaten up mercilessly in the police custody by the police and Morcha activists. Then the Youngman was taken to the house of the girl for amicable solutions where he was beaten again.

Gautam's family members alleged that the Goutam was severely beaten in the police station before he was handed over.

Gautam died yesterday while undergoing treatment at GBP hospital. DYFI, President  went to GB hospital and strongly condemned the whole incident.

Gautam's dead body was taken to Amarpur Hospital for post mortem.

DYFI leader Nabarun Deb demanded exemplary punishment of the culprits and an investigation with the intervention of the High Court. FD JK
