Agartala, Sept 24 (FD) Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha would inaugurate paragliding facilities at Vanghmun in Jampui Hills to boost adventure tourism, on September 29 next, Tourism minister Pranajit Singha Roy said on Friday.
“If everything goes as per the plan, Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha would inaugurate paragliding and paramotoring facilities at Vanghmun in Jampui Hills on Sept 29, to give a boost to adventure tourism in the state,” he said.
Addressing a press conference at Geetanjali Guest House, Pranajit Singha said, Tripura Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC) has taken up several initiatives to mark the World Tourism Day that falls on September 27.
‘Rethinking Tourism’ would be the theme for this year’s celebration, he added.
The Tourism minister said, the state government has a plan to develop a Digital Museum at the Pushbanta Palace and the Foundation Stone for the project likely to be laid by President Droupadi Murmu on October 14 next.
He said, eight of the ten ancient monuments in the Northeast are located in Tripura.
“The state witnessed a sharp increase in the number of tourists, both domestic and international, since 2018,” Pranajit Singha said.
One of the important attractions of religious tourism, Tripura Sundari Temple in Udaipur, about 60 km from here, is being renovated to make more attractive for tourists, he added.
Besides, various important tourist locations including Chabimura, Narkelkunja and Dumboor Lake are also being developed with new facilities. FD PD JK
