Westerly Winds Bring Rain, Snowfall Across Nepal's Hilly Regions
By News On Air Apr 11, 2025
The weather across Nepal is expected to remain partly to generally cloudy throughout the day, as per the latest update from the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology’s Weather Forecasting Division. The influence of westerly winds combined with local wind systems is likely to bring light to moderate rain along with thunder and lightning at several places, particularly in the hilly regions.
Other regions of the country may also experience scattered rainfall, while isolated areas in the high hills and mountainous zones may witness light snowfall. The department noted that the chances of precipitation are higher in the afternoon and evening hours.
April rains are common due to changing seasonal patterns, and this weather system is being largely influenced by western disturbances, which are bringing moisture-laden winds into Nepal’s atmosphere.
Authorities have advised people in the affected regions to take necessary precautions, especially those traveling to or residing in high-altitude areas where snowfall could impact transportation and daily activities.
The Meteorological Division continues to monitor the evolving weather patterns and has urged the public to stay updated through official forecasts and bulletins for any further developments.
