Kolkata: The Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday said one of the party MLAs was injured as violence broke out in Hooghly district of West Bengal as the political outfit took out a procession on Ram Navami.
Partys West Bengal Chief Sukanta Majumdar identified the injured MLA as Biman Ghosh.

Writing a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, he said: Bengal is going out of control. Mamata Banerjee is unable to control the riots. She is protecting a particular community and targeting Hindus.

The injured MLA has been reportedly hospitalised.
The BJPs vice president Dilip Ghosh was present in the Shobha Yatra when the miscreants created a ruckus, reports India Today.

Last week, clashes broke out during Ram Navami processions in Howrah.
Bengal witnessed communal riots during the Ram Navami celebrations ahead of the last general elections.
