Agartala, Oct 6 (FD) A five-member team led by Haryana BJP president O P Dhankar, who visited Tripura on September 2 at the invitation of former Chief Minister Biplab Deb, called Tripura a 'Mini Hindustan'.
Deb who is also a party observer of Haryana invited the leaders to witness the Durga Puja in Tripura.
Accordingly, they came to Agartala on October 2 and visited Maa Tripurasundari Temple, Chabimura, Dumboor Lake, Niramhal and Rudrasagar and were overwhelmed by this. They called Tripura a mini Hindustan by visiting the Durga Puja idols and pendals of several clubs in the city.
In an informal talk at a prestigious hotel in the capital this morning, the Haryana BJP president said that after enjoying the natural beauty of Tripura, he felt that the state could go a long way by worshiping this one resource.
Calling Rudra Sagar as the holder of the glorious history of Tripura's royal period, he praised its elaborate architectural style. He commented that this palace, built in the midst of the impressive Niramhal lake, could become a center of attraction for tourists in the entire country.
Haryana's political leaders visited the nature-blessed 'Narkel Kunja' (coconut groves), Chabimura, Dumboor Lake and commented that these forests and wetlands surrounded by natural hills can be one of the destinations for the people of the country who want to spend some time alone. Tripura's culture and tradition of Bengali and tribal patriotism has inspired them and the people of the whole country have an opportunity to learn from it, said the BJP's Haryana president and his colleagues.
