Veteran Journalist Paritosh Biswas and young journalist Ranjit Debbarma to receive awards for their achievement

Agartala, June 27 (FD) Name of the veteran journalist and editor of Jagaran Patrika , Paritosh Biswas was announced by the Agartala Press club for ‘Hiranmoy Chakraborty memorial lifetime achievement award for this year.

The ‘Hiranmoy Chakraborty memorial young journalist award’ would be conferred to Ranjit Debbarma, the editor of Chinikhorang, a Kokbarak TV channel.

This decision was taken today in the meeting of the five-member award committee comprising Arunoday Saha, former Vic-Chancellor of Tripura Central University, senior journalists Sanjib Deb, Manas Paul, Pranab Sarkar and Ramakanta Dey, Scretary of the Agartala Press Club.  Sumanta Chakraborty, Registrar of Tripura University, who is the son of late Chakraborty, was also present in the meeting, which was presided over by Prof. Saha.

The awards would be handed over to the awardees in a function to be organized by the Press Club.

Both the awardees would receive Rs. 10,000 and a citation. FD JK
