Vallabhbhai Patel worked to build India as a nation of Unity in Diversity: CM

Agartala, Oct 29 (FD) Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha today said that some people are trying to create division among the people in the state, which should not be done.
He also emphasized that everyone must stay united and work together.
Dr. Saha said this while attending the pledge-taking ceremony on the occasion of RASHTRIYA EKTA DIWAS at Swami Vivekananda Stadium.
On this day, Dr. Saha also flagged off and participated in the "Run for Unity" from Swami Vivekananda Maidan to Umakanta Academy.
"After Prime Minister Narendra Modi took charge in 2014, he decided to celebrate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel as Ekta Diwas on 31st October. To honor him, we are observing Ekta Diwas and the Run for Unity. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is known as the Iron Man of India, and after independence, he played a crucial role in maintaining the unity and integrity of the country, which everyone knows," he said.
He further stated that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel worked to build India as a nation of Unity in Diversity.
"He played a vital role in integrating 562 princely states into the Indian Union after the country's independence. This was possible only because of him. Though we observe this day every year on 31st October, due to the Diwali Festival, we are observing it on October 29. PM Modi initiated the Run for Unity and envisions everyone living together harmoniously. There are some people who are trying to create division, which should not be done by any means. The Run for Unity signifies that we must stay united and work together," he added.
During the program, Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Tinku Roy, MP and BJP State President Rajib Bhattacharya, Chief Whip of Tripura Legislative Assembly Kalyani Roy, Chief Secretary JK Sinha, Secretary PK Chakraborty, DG (Intelligence) Anurag, Gymnast and Padma Shri Dipa Karmakar, West Tripura District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar, and others were present.
