Agartala, Feb 3 (FD): Union Minister for Child and Women Development Smriti Irani today slammed Congress high command for seat-sharing with its rival political forces CPI (M) in Tripura for the ensuing assembly elections and insisted that the Congress workers should seek answers from the high command why did they bow down before the Marxists.
In a public rally address at Nalchhar in Sipahijala district, she said, “Decades after decade the CPI-M, which ruled Tripura had let loose violence on the Congress workers. Many Congress activists were murdered by the CPI-M goons. But the Congress high command did not hesitate to share seats with them”.
She said this act of sharing seats and giving nod by the Congress high command is a ‘sin’ and the Congress workers should ask for clarification from their leaders.
“It is the handy works of the Congress party high command and they did not think even for a moment of those party activists who have sacrificed their lives were ignored”, she said.
