Union Minister Scindia to attend Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas

Agartala, Nov 13 (FD) Union Minister of Communication Jyotiraditya M Scindia will pay day’s visit to Tripura on Thursday to attend the Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas programme, Director of the Tribal Welfare Department, Subhasish Das said.

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha will inaugurate the programme at the Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhavan here in presence of Union minister of Communications and Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) and the state Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma here on Friday.

Scindia would also review with the chief minister on the day about the development projects undertaken by the DoNER in Tripura.

Among others state Forest Minister Animesh Debbarma, Cooperative Minister Sukla Charan Noatia and Tribal Welfare Secretary, Brijesh Pandey will remain present in the programme.

Janatiya Gaurav Diwas is observed across the nation on the birth anniversary of Birsa Munda, who fought against the British colonial rulers for freedom.

The day would be observed by organizing different tribal cultural programme and indigenous food festivals. FD JK
