Agartala, Aug 12 (FD) Union Minister of State Pratima Bhowmik engaged in a productive discussion with Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, addressing pertinent issues regarding railway connectivity between Tripura and other states. During their meeting, Bhowmik pressed for the initiation of additional train services to cater to the needs of devotees and businessmen in the state.
Bhowmik, during her visit to the Satsang Vihara of Sri Sri Thakur Anukul Chandra in Deoghar, engaged with Sri Sri Babai Dada, who emphasized the need for improved rail connectivity between Tripura and Deoghar.
Currently, the sole weekly train service between the two locations often leaves devotees waiting for seven days for a return journey. Acknowledging this, Bhowmik proposed an additional train to Deoghar, a proposition warmly received by Minister Ashwini Vaishnav.
In her further interactions, Bhowmik highlighted the demand for increased rail services catering to devotees visiting Sri Lanka Bihari Dham Vrindavan and Jagannath Dham Puri. She urged the introduction of at least one weekly train for their convenience.
Bhowmik noticed the absence of a dedicated Agartala-Guwahati train route. She pressed for the establishment of a train on this route, which would aid traders, boost tourism, and provide a practical commuting solution for students travelling to Guwahati for examinations. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav promptly directed officials to expedite arrangements for a trial run on the Agartala-Guwahati route. FD SB
