Union Home Minister Amit Shah to arrive here tonight

Agartala, Jan 4 (FD): Giving utmost importance to the scheduled Ratha Yatra of the ruling BJP, Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, has preponed his visit to the state and is arriving here today.
“Union Home Minister was scheduled to arrive here tomorrow, but he has preponed his visit and arrive here tonight at about 10 PM by a special Indian Air force flight and stay at the State Guest house here”, sources said.
Sources said, tight security measures were taken in view of his visit.
Shah would flag off two Ratha Yatras tomorrow – one from Dharmanagar, the northern end of Tripura and the other Yatra would be flagged off from Sabroom, the Southern end of the state.
President of theTripura unit of ruling BJP, Rajib Bhattacharjee said, “The BJP would virtually kickoff its campaign for the assembly elections due in February with the flagging off the eight-day long Ratha yatra.”
He said both the Rathas from two places would be arriving at Agartala on January 12 and the national president of the party J P Nadda and union minister Smriti Irani would conclude the programme at the state capital here.
Chief Minister Manik Saha and Information and Cultural Affairs Minister Sushanta Chowdhury have visited both the places of starting the yatras to oversee the preparedness. FD JK
