Agartala, Jun 15 (FD) The All Tripura Unemployed Physiotherapists' Forum recently met with the Director of Health Services, Dr. Subhasish Debbarma, to discuss the issue of employment opportunities for physiotherapists in government-run healthcare institutions across the state. In a memorandum submitted to the director, the forum highlighted the lack of job prospects in their field.
During the meeting, one of the unemployed physiotherapists expressed their concerns regarding the government's inaction in providing employment for physiotherapists. They gathered in front of the Directorate of Health Services and emphasized the need for immediate attention to their situation.
In response, Dr. Debbarma assured the group that the matter would be thoroughly examined and appropriate steps would be taken. He also mentioned that a requisition for ten posts, comprising two permanent and eight contractual positions, has been sent to the Finance Department for approval.
Additionally, the director requested that the unemployed physiotherapists gather information regarding the number of vacant posts in all sub-divisional hospitals. This data will aid in formulating a comprehensive plan for recruiting physiotherapists in the near future.
The unemployed physiotherapists remain hopeful that the Health Department, being well-versed in healthcare matters, will recognize the importance of their profession in healthcare institutions throughout the state. They anticipate positive outcomes from their efforts to seek employment opportunities through government channels. FGD SB JK
