Umakanta Academy to Celebrate 162nd Foundation Day with Festivities

Agartala, Dec 13 (FD) Umakanta Academy Alumni is set to commemorate the school's 162nd Foundation Day with vibrant celebrations on Sunday, December 15. The event will feature a variety of programs to honor the academy's rich heritage.

The day begins at 9 am with a grand procession starting from the academy premises, traversing the city’s main roads, and returning to the campus. Past and present students, teachers, and staff will join this colorful march, accompanied by lively announcements, music, and dances, adding vibrancy to Agartala's streets.

The celebrations will continue at 5 pm with a cultural program at the academy auditorium. Eminent artists, along with students and teachers, will perform songs, dances, dramas, and more. Awards will be presented to winners of the "Bose Anko" and "Satyapriyo Dasgupta" essay competitions. The event will also honor former students and teachers, fostering a spirit of unity and nostalgia.
