Two peddlers arrested along with contraband worth Rs. Six crore

Agartala, Mar 21 (FD) Two drug peddlers were arrested along with contraband yaba tablets worth Rs 6 crores from Damcherra, a sleepy tribal hamlet in Tripura’s North District, bordering Mamit district of Mizoram on Thursday, police chief of the district, Bhanupada Chakraborty said.
Acting on a tip-off in a pre-dawn swoop police raided the Damcherra market and intercepted a small vehicle (Bolero) and recovered the contraband items worth Rs. 6 crore and arrested the two youths.
The arrested youths were identified as Maman Hossain (34) and Krishna Chandra Singh (35), both residents of Tripura.
They were produced in a local court at Dharmanagar, the district headquarters of North Tripura.
Police said, Damcherra is a drug corridor between Mizoram and Tripura. FD JK
