Two-day state-level Wa festival concluded

Agartala, Nov 9 (FD) The two-day state-level Wa festival which was held at Twikarma H.S of Santirbazar concluded on 7th November, 2023. Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Tinku Roy was present at the closing ceremony of the 20th State-level Wa festival.
Minister Roy said that Wa festival is carrying on the Indian tradition to protect brotherhood. He highlighted the implementation of various schemes of the state government and the central government for the welfare of the people of the state. He expressed hope that Wa festival will play an important role in the future in maintaining peace, harmony and brotherhood of the state.
MLA Pramod Reang, MLA Mailafru Mog and MDC Sanjib Reang spoke among others at the closing ceremony. The closing ceremony was presided over by the president of the social and cultural organization Kangjari Mog Chowdhury. Joint Convenor of Wa Festival Committee, Mongbu Mog gave vote of thanks. Chairperson of Santirbazar Municipal Council Swapna Baidya, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Avedananda Baidya and others were present at the programme.
During the two-day long Wa festival, 10 departments opened exhibition stalls to showcase various developmental schemes of the state government to the public. Interesting cultural programs were organized under the initiative of the Department of Information and Cultural Affairs. PRESS RELEASE
