Two arrested for raping minor girl in North Tripura

Agartala, Sept 14 (FD) Two persons were arrested on charges of raping a minor girl in North Tripura district, the police said on Friday. The accused, both in their twenties, were arrested after the girl’s relatives lodged a complaint, the police added.
The men have been booked under sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the police said.
“The duo were arrested on the basis of a written complaint from the relatives of the minor girl. She is under treatment…After getting the complaint, we have arrested both of them,” Bhanupada Chakraborty, Superintendent of Police, North District, said.
Villagers said minor was abducted when she went to a shop on Thursday evening. Later, the men allegedly took her to a nearby jungle and sexually assaulted her. She was later found unconscious on the road, following which her family was informed, sources said. FD JK
