Agartala, Sept 16 (FD) Tripura Road and Transport Corporation has decided to provide free bus services during three days of Durga Puja in three extra routes, Chairman of Tripura road and Transport Corporation Abhijit Deb said on Thursday.
The decision was taken in a meeting of the Board of Directors on Thursday.
Addressing a press conference at Krishnanagar Road and transport corporation complex, the director said, the free bus services will be available for the public from 1 am to 6 pm and no fare will be charged on the passengers.
The free bus service will be available during Saptami, Ashtami and Nabami of Durga Puja.
The chairman said, the three extra bus routes are introduced considering the demands and comfort of common people.
These routes include Akhaura Entry gate check point to MBB international airport, Krishnanagar TRTC complex to Jampuijala via old motor stand, Dakshin Anandanagar, G.B hospital to Kamalasagar, Kasba Kali bari, Agartala railway station to Ahwini market, Kailashar to Kumarghat railway station, Dharmanagar to Khedachara via Damchhora, Dharamanagar to Karimganj and Dharmanagar to Kailashahar.
The common town bus routes that are available, like every year, are Ranirbazar to Battala and vice versa, TRTC complex to Sekerkot via Amtali along with the reverse trip and Agartala railway station to MBB airport through Battala and Radhanagar.
The chairman said that these new bus routes will be restarted eventually after Durga Puja. He said with the cooperation of people, TRTC can provide service to all these routes hopefully.
He also said that decisions have been taken to seek the advice of authorities of Smart city limited in the development of Kunjaban TRTC complex, Krishnanagar TRTC complex and Battala TRTC complex.
Deb also said the Tripura Road and Transport Corporation requested an amount from the state government through the transport department to allow 5% of Mahargo grant to TRTC employees. Moreover, a proposal has also been placed to the state government to provide advance payment for the earned leave during their retirement process.
The logo of TRTC will be modified into a pictorial of Tripureswari Mandir, the chairman said.
