Agartala, Mar 25 (FD) The state-level Spring Festival in Tripura will be celebrated on March 30, 2025, at the Natural Garden of the Basic Training College. The festival, deeply rooted in the monarchy-era tradition, aims to preserve its cultural heritage while engaging the modern generation.
The event will open with a grand musical and dance performance featuring 250 artists, marking a historic first for the festival. A highlight of the program is "Matki Phur," an entertainment segment presented by the TSR Second Battalion, Sports Department’s Scout and Guide team, and AMC group.
To revive royal-era Holi songs, compositions by Maharaja Bir Chandra and Bir Bikram will be performed, alongside Kokborok Holi songs, once widely sung in villages. Rare Vaishnav Holi songs, traditionally performed at Vaishnav monasteries, will also be presented.
Adding to the diversity, the Manipuri community will showcase devotional Krishna-centric Holi songs, while cultural performances include the Santali Jhumur dance, Reang Hozagiri dance, Bengali Dhamail dance, Mog Sangrai dance, and Tripuri Mamita dance. The festival will also feature live painting sessions, handicraft stalls, and a food court.
Renowned Kolkata-based artists Sudeshna Sanal Rudra and Bishwaroop Rudra will captivate audiences with a special cultural performance. Events will take place across five stages, ensuring a vibrant celebration.
This historic festival aims to promote cultural unity and harmony, strengthening social bonds among diverse communities.
