Tripura’s Asmita clinches Gold in All India Inter University Judo Championship

Agartala, Jan 09 (FD) Adding a feather to the cap of Tripura’s sports arena, 19-year-old Asmita Dey has won the gold medal in All India Inter University Judo Championship-2023.

She won the gold medal on behalf of Barkatullah University of Madhya Pradesh's Bhopal in the 48-kg category at the Championship on Monday. Asmita defeated Antim Yadav of the host University to clinch the medal.

Asmita, among the judokas from 100 other Indian Universities, participated in the 48-kg category in the tournament being held at Lovely Professional University in Punjab.

The tournament in both male and female categories was started on January 2 last and will continue till January 12 next. FD PD
