Tripura's first female loco pilot set to revolutionise Indian Railways

Agartala, May 15 (FD) In a groundbreaking achievement, Debolina Roy, a young girl from Agartala's Ram Nagar Road No. 7 area, is set to make history as the first female assistant loco pilot in the state. This remarkable feat opens a new chapter in Tripura's railway legacy and serves as an inspiration to aspiring women across the region.

Daughter of Ranabir Roy and Chandrani Roy, Debolina's journey to this momentous accomplishment has been marked by dedication and perseverance. She completed her secondary education in science at Don Bosco School and went on to pursue a diploma in electrical engineering from the esteemed Tripura Institute of Technology (TIT). Fueling her ambition further, Debolina earned a B-Tech degree in electrical engineering from Calcutta.

Her unwavering determination paid off when she successfully qualified for the rigorous examination conducted for the recruitment of assistant loco pilots.

Debolina will soon embark on her career as a loco pilot, initially managing goods trains and progressively working her way up to operating ordinary passenger trains, express trains, and even prestigious ones like the 'Duranta,' 'Jan Shatabdi,' and the newly introduced 'Bande Bharat Expresses.'
