Tripura University Gains National Recognition for New-Age Fibre Research Work

Agartala, May 20 (FD) Tripura University participated in the “New Age Fibre” demonstration programme held in New Delhi on May 19, organised by the Ministry of Textiles and the National Jute Board.
The event brought together leading textile research institutes, industry representatives, and experts from across the country to showcase innovations in sustainable and emerging fibre technologies. The participation of Tripura University highlighted its ongoing research initiatives and contributions in the field of eco-friendly and advanced fibre development.
Significantly, Tripura University was the only university invited to demonstrate its work alongside prominent textile research institutes and industries, marking a notable achievement for the institution.
In a statement shared on social media, the university said its participation reflected “innovative research and contribution in the field of sustainable and emerging fibre technologies alongside leading textile research institutes and industries of the country.”
During the concluding session, Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh acknowledged and appreciated the work carried out by the university in the area of new-age fibre technologies. His recognition underscored the growing national visibility of the university’s research and innovation efforts.
The participation is expected to further strengthen Tripura University’s role in research, innovation, and sustainable development in the textile and fibre sector. FD JK
