Tripura unit of SFI holds protest rally against increasing crime against women in state

Agartala, Nov 27 (FD) With the initiative of the Student Federation of India (SFI), a student wing of Left Front, a protest rally led by girl students was organized alleging deteriorating law and order, uncontrolled drug addiction and increasing violence against children, women and girl students in the state under BJP-led government.
Interacting with the media, SFI Central Committee member, Baishali Majumder alleged that the crime against women has been raised in the state during the rule of present BJP-led government.
He said, "BJP's much-vaunted 'Beti-Bachao-Beti Padhao' slogan should be revised to 'Beti Bachao-BJP Hatao', as no woman is safe in the state under BJP rule".
She also alleged that crimes against women and children as well as elderly women have increased in almost every part of the state.
Majumdar also threatened the ruling government to start a bigger agitation in the state in future if the issue of crime against women is not addressed.
Shee also alleged that girl members who wanted to attend the protest rally organized by Tripura unit of SFI from different Sub-divisions of the state were threatened by ruling BJP supporters. FD PD JK
