Tripura to host a-day conference of CPA, India Region Zone – III of NE states tomorrow

Agartala, June 4 (FD) Tripura will host the conference of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) India Region Zone – III of the north eastern states on Monday next, Tripura assembly speaker Biswa Bandhu Sen said today.

Addressing a press at his official chamber in Tripura Legislative Assembly, Sen said, “The Speakers, Deputy Speakers, high officials including assembly secretaries of all north eastern will attend the conference going to be held at Tripura’s capital Agartala and the guests have already started reaching the state”.

He said all the guests were declared as state guests, who during their stay in the state will also visit some tourists’ spots.

Arunachal Pradesh Speaker Pasang Dorjee Sona will preside over the conference, he added.

Sen further said, “With the introduction of Look-East policy under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, entire north east has seen unprecedented development. Discussion on issues such as communication, connectivity, infrastructure, National Highways etc. will be held at the conference”.

Apart from that, the venue and chairman for the next North east CPA Conference will also decided in the day’s meeting.

The Speaker however informed that because of the alarming situation in Manipur, the Speaker of the state won’t be able to attend the conference.

Tripura Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker Ram Prasad Paul, chief whip Kalyani Roy among others remained present at the press conference. FD JK
