Agartala, Aug 29 (FD) The Tripura Election Department has stepped up preparations for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, scheduled to begin across the state on September 5.
Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Brijesh Pandey and Additional Chief Electoral Officer Usa Jen Mog reviewed the preparedness for the large-scale electoral roll revision during a video conference with all District Election Officers (DEOs) and Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) on August 28.
The meeting focused on the administrative, logistical and technological arrangements required to ensure the smooth and effective implementation of the Special Intensive Revision across the state.
Officials reviewed the preparedness of district-level election machinery and discussed measures for the systematic verification and updating of electoral rolls. Special emphasis was placed on the use of technology to ensure that the revision process is carried out accurately, efficiently and transparently.
The Chief Electoral Officer’s office also discussed measures to ensure that all eligible electors are properly included in the electoral rolls and that no genuine voter is left out during the revision process. At the same time, officials are expected to undertake necessary verification to maintain the accuracy and integrity of the electoral database.
The meeting further emphasised the need for uniform implementation of the SIR across all districts, with close coordination among District Election Officers, Electoral Registration Officers and other officials associated with the exercise.
