Tripura secured highest position among the small states in judicial process

Agartala, May 4 (FD) In a significant development Tripura has secured the highest position among the small states of the country in justice delivery and judicial process, according to the latest India Justice report.
The report said that Tripura scored 5.32 out of 10, which placed it ahead of Sikkim. Sikkim recorded the second highest position, when Meghalaya secured the third position followed by Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Mizoram and Goa.
The assessments were done by the TATA Social Science Institute and the Commonwealth Human Rights’ Initiative.
The report had judged the criteria based on their performance across four pillars of the justice systems that include judiciary, police, prison and legal aids.
Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha while appreciating the judiciary in the state said that the state could achieve the record due to the collective efforts of the esteemed judges, judicial officers, court staffs and the members associated with the judicial system.
Dr Saha also greeted the stakeholders for which the state could earn the loyal and expressed his appreciation saying that recognition reflects well on the state’s overall governance and institutional strength.
The India Justice Report came out with the helps and supports by the TATA Institute of Social Sciences and the Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative, which provided a data-driven analysis of how the states are managing their justice delivery systems and accountability. FD JK
