Agartala, July 17 (FD) In a major administrative reshuffle aimed at strengthening law enforcement and enhancing operational efficiency, the Tripura government has transferred and posted 47 Indian Police Service (IPS) and Tripura Police Service (TPS) officers with immediate effect.
According to a notification issued by the General Administration (Personnel & Training) Department on July 16, the transfers have been ordered in the interest of public service.
Among the key changes, IPS officer Sudhambika R has been transferred from Superintendent of Police (SP), Unakoti, to SP (Cyber Crime), while Rishabh, IPS, has been posted as the new SP, Unakoti. Nabadwip Jamatia, IPS, has been shifted from SP (Cyber Crime) to Commandant, TSR 15th Battalion, and Sankar Debnath, IPS, has been appointed SP (Economic Offences). Piyamadhuri Majumder, TPS Grade-I, has been posted as SP (Vigilance), NA while Kisan Kumar, TPS Grade-I, has been appointed SP, State Crime Records Bureau (SCRB).
The reshuffle also includes several senior-level postings in the Tripura State Rifles (TSR), Vigilance, Security, Anti-Narcotics, Serious Crime, Economic Offences, and the Special Branch. Officers have also been reassigned to key training institutions, including the Counter Insurgency and Anti-Terrorism (CIAT) School and the Police Training Academy, reflecting the government's emphasis on strengthening operational policing and capacity building.
Several district policing positions have also witnessed changes. Fresh appointments have been made for SP, Gomati, while Additional Superintendents of Police in North Tripura, Unakoti, Sepahijala, Gomati, Traffic, and SCRB have been transferred. The exercise also covers transfers of Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs) in Khowai, Kumarghat, Sonamura, Kamalpur, Kanchanpur, Sadar, and other subdivisions, besides the reassignment of several Assistant Commandants of various TSR battalions.
One of the largest police reshuffles in recent months, the exercise is expected to strengthen specialised wings such as Cyber Crime, Vigilance, Anti-Narcotics, and Economic Offences, while improving coordination and law enforcement across the state.
