Tripura polls: Amit Shah to pay his second visit in state for campaign

Agartala, Feb 5 (FD) Union Home Minister Amit Shah will pay his second visit to poll bound Tripura tomorrow and address two rallies in favour of the BJP candidates at Khowai district and Santirbazar in South Tripura district, party sources said.
Police said security was beefed up in the state in view of the home minister’s visit, who will also join a road show at the capital city on Monday.
Shah, according police, would arrive a day ahead of his visit and is scheduled to land at the MBB air port Sunday at 11.30 pm today.
Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha and Yuva Morcha state president Nabadal Banik have inspected Khowai and Santir Bazar to supervise the preparations for the two election rallies to be addressed by the Union Home Minister.
Shah had visited the state on January 5 and kicked off the poll campaign by launching two Rath Yatras at Dharmanagar in North Tripura district and Sabroom in South Tripura district.
Media-in-charge of BJP, Sunit Sarkar said, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh would arrive Tripura on February 7 to hit the party's election campaign trail.
“Everyday our national leaders will visit Tripura and address rallies or public gatherings in different parts of the state in favour of the BJP candidates”, he said.
In the upcoming elections for 60 assembly seats BJP has pitted 55 candidates and stitched an alliance with its old ally IPFT, who would contest in five seats in the February 16 elections. FD JK
