Ranjan’s revelations came while observing Police Commemoration Day at the Manoranjan Debbarma Smriti Stadium at A.D. Nagar here.
He spoke so confidently, when a tribal youth was allegedly murdered inside the police custody and a shop owner was stabbed inside his shop, who later succumbed to his injuries and communal tensions in North Tripura district.
However, the DGP pointed out that the state’s biggest festival, Durga puja was held peacefully.
He also revealed that many police and paramilitary personnel had sacrificed their lives in the state to reduce communal conflict in the state and more than 35,000 police personnel laid down their lives to protect the country. FD JK
