Agartala, Sept 7 (FD) Tripura police has nabbed three persons in connection with the recent increasing incidences of thefts, attacks and intimidations in the capital city for the last few months, which have made the citizens worried.
Sub-divisional police officer (SDPO), Sadar, Chhabir Ahmed said three persons were arrested from Rajnagar village last night.
He said, two Bangladeshis were also involved in the incidents of recent thefts, but they managed to give a slip.
After the recent incident of daccoity at Aralia in the city outskirts under East Agartala police station, common people demands security must be tightened for safety of commoners.
A group of four youths, possibly drug users had forcibly entered into the house of one Rajesh Das, a bank employee at East Aralia on Sunday night and tied the hands of the house owner and other members of the family and robbed the cash and jwellery at the mid night at around 1-30 am.
The dacoits threatened the house owner of dire consequences if they disclosed the incident to police.
Even as the, the incident was informed to police immediately, so far no one was arrested.
The robbery raised an alarm in the city which had for long not witnessed such a violent break in and daring dacoity. The police was, according to sources, trying hard to know the identity of the robbers.
Police suspect that the incident of dacoity could be engineered by the drug users, who are in crisis. FD JK
