Tripura Gramin Bank ranked second best among 28 RRBs under APY

Agartala, May 20 (FD) In a major achievement for Tripura’s rural banking sector, Tripura Gramin Bank has secured the second-best performer position among 28 Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) across the country under the Atal Pension Yojana (APY).
The recognition was conferred during the prestigious APY Annual Felicitation Programme 2026 held at the ITC Maurya in New Delhi on Wednesday. The event was organised by the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority in the presence of senior officials from the Government of India and leading representatives of the banking and financial sector.
The award was received by Satyendra Singh in the presence of M. Nagaraju and Sanjay Lohia, along with other distinguished dignitaries.
Tripura Gramin Bank has recorded remarkable performances under the Atal Pension Yojana over the past several financial years, consistently surpassing its assigned targets. The bank achieved 203 per cent of its target during FY 2022-23, 197 per cent in FY 2023-24, an exceptional 351 per cent in FY 2024-25, and 185 per cent in FY 2025-26.
During FY 2025-26 alone, the bank registered 27,787 active APY enrolments against a target of 15,000, significantly expanding pension coverage and financial security among rural citizens across the state.
Officials of the bank attributed the achievement to the collective efforts of its branches, employees and stakeholders, stating that the recognition reflects the institution’s continued commitment towards financial inclusion, social security and grassroots banking outreach.
The accomplishment has been widely hailed as a matter of pride for Tripura and a significant milestone in strengthening rural financial empowerment in the state. FD JK
