Tripura Govt receives 17.66 crore grant to revamp 500-year-old Kasbeswari Maa temple

Agartala, Aug 01 (FD) In an effort to encourage religious tourism Tripura government is contemplating to facelift the 500 year old Kasbeswari Maa temple at Kamalasagar in Sepahijala District, located near the Indo-Bangla international border.

State Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said, Rs 17.66 crore was sanctioned from the Asian Development Bank for the preservation of cultural heritage in the region.

He said, the state Tourism department is working on making a design for beautification of the age old Hindu temple.

The temple is immortalized by the presence of famous female monk Maa Anandomoyee, who attained siddhi in this temple. FD JK
