Agartala, Feb 10 (FD) Besides Polo Tower, the state is likely to get a heritage five-star hotel, Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha has said on Sunday.
While delivering his speech at the state Engineers’ Association here CM said, “We are in talks with the TATA group for setting up the heritage five star hotel, which will have five to six exclusive rooms and more than 100 royal rooms. It is likely to be a game changer”.
He said the TATA has hotel chain in the entire globe and the tourists can come from different foreign countries by chartered flights and can stay in those luxurious rooms.
Those foreigners can visit the tourist’s spots like Neermahal, Chhabimura, Unakoti sculptures etc.
However, he did not mention the place where the hotel can be established.
In last December, when Tripura government announced that the heritage hotel can be set up at Puspabanta palace, there were protests from tribalist Tipramotha, a ruling party and the opposition CPI-M.
Tipra Motha supremo, Pradyot Dev Barman said that his party is not against setting up the hotel, but it should not be in the Puspabant palace, which was built by Maharaja Birendra Kishore Manikya Bahadur in 1917. FD JK
