Tripura Government to collaborate with Tata Technology to enhance skill of the ITI students

Agartala, Nov 16 (FD) Tripura Government is planning to collaborate with Tata Technologies for enhancing skill of the trainees of the 19 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) with advanced technologies, a minister said today.
Addressing a press conference, Minister of Food and Transport, Sushanta Chaowdhury said, the state government would soon sign a Memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Tata Technologies for imparting modern technological training. “Unless skills could be enhanced there is little scope for placements of the trainees. We have also identified shortcomings in the management and training systems. But with the Tata group coming to the aid, we would be able to overcome the problems and hope that very skilled groups of trainees will be produced”, he told reporters at the civil secretariat here.
Chopwdhury said the Prime Minister Narendra Modi dreams of creating a developed nation and startup project aims to create skilled people. The government of Tripura has taken initiative to transform the it is as centres of excellence, he added.
Altogether Rs 683.27 crore would be required for completion of the project of which 86% would be borne by the Tata group and the rest 14% by the state government.
He said, the project would be completed within a span of five years and the state government has allocated Rs 112 crore for its share in the initiative.
It is expected that with the formulation of new course design and the students receiving trainings of new technologies different industries would be interested to recruit them. FD JK
