Agartala, May 26 (FD) The Tripura government has directed its employees to maintain punctuality and regular attendance in their respective offices. The notice, signed by Abhishek Singh, Secretary to the state government, highlighted the lack of sincerity among employees in adhering to these expectations.
The notice emphasized that employees must be present in their offices on time and remain until 5:30 pm on all working days, except for unavoidable circumstances. The government stressed the importance of employees being available to serve the public promptly from 10:00 am onward. Additionally, the notice strictly stated that no employee should leave the office during working hours without valid and unavoidable reasons, and without informing the appropriate authority.
The government has warned that failure to comply with these instructions will result in necessary action being taken against the defaulting employee by their respective department. The aim of this directive is to ensure discipline and efficiency in the workplace.
In 2018, the BJP-IPFT government implemented biometric attendance systems for the first time. The system was introduced to monitor and ensure regular and timely attendance of employees across various departments. However, despite the introduction of biometric attendance, the government has noticed a lack of punctuality and regular attendance among employees, leading to the issuance of this recent notice.
The Tripura government expects its employees to prioritize their duties and responsibilities towards the public and the efficient functioning of the administration. By enforcing strict adherence to punctuality and regular attendance, the government aims to improve public services and increase productivity in the state. FD SB PD
