Tripura gets reorganization as best performing state in implementing PMAY-U

Agartala, Oct 19 (FD) Tripura has been recognized as the best performing state in implementing Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U).
The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has selected Tripura and four other states such as Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Tamil Nadu for awarding.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be awarding Tripura along with four states at Rajkot, Gujarat on Wednesday evening, according to a press release issued by the Additional Secretary of Urban Development department Dr. Tamal Majumdar.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to visit Tripura by the end of the month to inaugurate dwelling units rolled out under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) apart from few other projects, Chief Minister Manik Saha said on Tuesday.
Modi would also visit Arunachal Pradesh during his NE tour this time, the CM said.
Speaking to reporters in the sidelines of a programme here on Tuesday, Dr Saha said the PM is scheduled to visit Arunachal Pradesh and Tripura on either of October 27 or 28th.
"We have just got information. He is scheduled to visit Arunachal Pradesh and Tripura. If he goes to Arunachal Pradesh first, he will come here on the 28th. If he comes to Tripura first, he will come here on the 27th, and he'll go to Arunachal later. Either 27th or 28th, he will come here on either of the dates", He said. FD PD
