Tripura gears up for Second Lok Adalat of 2025

Agartala, May 8 (FD) The second Lok Adalat of the current year would be held in Tripura on May 10, where more than 20,000 cases are likely to be settled, member Secretary of the Tripura Lok Adalat, Jhuma Datta Chowdhury said.
Datta Chowdhury said the Lok Adalat would be held in all the eight districts and 18 sub-divisions of the state which would deal with 21,410 cases on Saturday.
The cases include 1,000 BSNL bill payment cases, 399 motor accident compensation claims, 221 marital dispute cases, 5457 bank loan repayment issues and 14,264 conciliatory criminal dispute cases filed under MB act, TP act, TG act etc.
Moreover, 63 cheque bounce cases under NI act, 9 consumer cases, 48 electricity bill disputes and 8 employment related cases will also come up for settlements.
She said, “We have already sent the notices to the parties. Those who will be attending the Lok Adalat also be assisted by Odhikar Mitra volunteers to conduct the process”.
The Executive Chairman of the Tripura state Legal Service Authority, Amarnath Gaur, who is also the Chief Justice of the High Court of Tripura has served necessary suggestions for the smooth conduct of the National Lok Adalat. FD JK
