Tripura: Fourth rape in a row, now 11-year old girl of capital city became victim

Agartala, Oct 29 (FD) Yet another minor girl became the victim of rape incident, this time in the capital city of the state. After Kumarghat, Kalyanpur and Kailashahar, an 11-year old girl of Jogendranagar in Agartala was allegedly raped by a 51-year old neighbor on Thursday, police said.
The victim's mother alleged that the neighbor- Bishnupad Das, who is also a father of three children, lifted her daughter from their house, forced her to get drunk and tied her hands and raped her.
The mother said the incident was held when she was not present at the house. Later, when she returned home the rape survivor narrated the brutality to her. Accordingly, a complaint was lodged against the accused at East Police Station here.
The police arrested the accused under POCSO Act.
When the incident came into light on Friday, common people as well as opposition parties such as women wings of CPIM and Congress started protesting and demanded rigorous punishment of the culprit. FD PD JK
