Agartala, Oct 15 (FD) The first Sarad Samman Award ceremony for AMC South zone level was held at Arundhuti Nagar XII School in 39th ward of Agartala Municipal Corporation on Friday.
The award program was opened by the honorable chief minister of Tripura Dr. Manik Saha. The CM said that it was the major priority of the government to complete the durga puja celebration smoothly with decorum and no unlawful obstacles. Therefore the puja organizers have tried their best in maintaining the decorum in their concerned areas.
The 
CM said, “This year’s Durga Puja departure rally carnival has taken a historic form. Carnival of such grandiose was never arranged in the state before.” He expressed his hope that tourists will come to witness this event in the coming years.
In his address, Tripura CM further said that the state government is focusing on protecting the rights 
of free speech and movement of the citizens. The government was earlier successful in fighting the COVID pandemic with the cooperation of the citizens. Tripura has acquired praiseworthy stations in completing the COVID vaccination drive compared to other states.
The CM hopes that following the Sarad Samman Award ceremony, many other clubs of the AMC south zone will participate in healthy competition in the years ahead.
22 clubs have been 
awarded in various categories of best memorial, disciplined Puja arrangement, awareness promotion, yearly charitable commitments, best puja in restrained budget, best pandal, best idol of the deity, overall best Puja etc. The Chief Minister handed the prizes to the winners of various categories.
The chief guest Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Deepak Majumder said in his speech that it was the arrangement of the committee formed between the Department of Information and Cultural affairs and A
gartala Municipal Corporation which made this year's Puja even more attractive. He also praised Puja organizers for their role in the smooth completion of Puja celebration.
The ceremony was attended by MLA Mimi Majumder, deputy mayor Monica Das Datta, Corporator of 39th ward Alak Roy, and Assistant commissioner of AMC south zone level Rajib Debbarama. FD DM
