Tripura Finance Minister Distributes Appointment Letters to 11 Inspectors

Agartala, Apr 19 (FD) In a short yet significant ceremony held at Gorkha Basti on Saturday, Tripura’s Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy distributed appointment letters to 11 selected candidates appointed as Inspectors under the Small Savings, Group Insurance, and Institutional Finance sections of the state’s Finance Department.
Accompanied by Finance Secretary Apurba Roy and other senior officials, the minister congratulated the newly appointed inspectors and highlighted the government’s commitment to filling up vacant posts across all departments. He assured that the recruitment process is being carried out transparently and strictly following government norms to prevent any administrative discrepancies that could affect job security.
Addressing the audience, the minister also noted that currently, there are no functioning chit fund operations in Tripura. He added that the government is liquidating the assets of defunct chit fund companies that previously deceived the public, and the recovered funds are being added to the state exchequer to be distributed among the victims of financial fraud.
The event also highlighted the state’s strong performance in mobilizing small savings. Against a target of ₹1,024 crore for the financial year 2024–25 under the Small Savings Scheme, ₹1,075 crore has already been collected. Presently, 1,119 SAS agents and 2,247 MPKBY agents are actively working across Tripura to encourage savings and ensure financial inclusion. FD SB JK
