Agartala, Jan 12 (FD): BJP national president JP Nadda on Thursday said that The Double Engine Government in Tripura implement Hira presented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2018 and now the state have to try for more developments after coming to power this year.
Nadda addressed a public rally here on the concluding day of the Jana Biswas Yatra, which was launched by Union Minister for Home Affairs, Amit Shah on January 9 to garner support for the saffron party in the ensuing assembly elections slated for next month.
“HIRA means, Highway, Internet, Railway and Aviation. Since this has been completed we will have to try for better things after coming to power in the upcoming election. In the last five years there were immense development in the state and now we need to look beyond”, he said.
He said that in 2018 Tripura had only one highway but now the state has seven highways, there was no facility for health care service and people used to go outside for treatment but today the state has seven hospitals with all kinds of facilities. Tripura’s connectivity problem has also vastly improved over the past five years and very soon the state will be internationally connected.
Nadda said that the double engine government in the state is moving fast as the saffron party is at the helm at both –the state and centre.
Taking a dig at the erstwhile Marxist Government, which ruled the state for 25 years, he said there was hardly any development that time and common masses were facing neglects, but the real development of the state started only after the BJP government came to power.
“Tripura was facing lawlessness as the rape, murder and extortion was a regular feature and frequent bandhs had crippled the normal life, but people got relieves only after the saffron party came to power. Now Tripura is going ahead in terms of development and a rule of law was established”, he said.

Nadda gave a long list of achievements over the past eight years under the central government headed by Narendra Modi.
He said the country is now self reliant in food productions, largest producer of all the vaccines, and emerged as the third largest automobile market in the world and the second highest producer of mobiles and the number of AIIMS has increased from six to 23.
Nadda said, “Despite the Covid-19 pandemic and the Ukraine war our economic growth was remarkable. The country would develop further under the leadership of the Prime Minister Modi”.
Nadda had dinner in the residence of a beneficiary of PMAY scheme in Lankamura and held a core committee meeting of the party. He is flying back to Delhi tonight. FD JK
