Agartala, May 20 (FD) In a video message on Saturday, Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha called upon all the citizens of the state, including Ministers, MLAs, officials and students, to actively participate in the 'TB Mukt Gram Panchayat' campaign.
This campaign, initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aims to eliminate tuberculosis (TB) from the country by 2025.
Emphasizing the main objective of the campaign, Dr. Saha said the elimination of TB through the active involvement and awareness of ‘Panchayati Raj’ organizations is important. He also highlighted the need to dispel superstitions related to TB and create a healthy environment in Panchayat areas.
The government has taken several measures to combat TB in Tripura, Dr Saha said.
In this context he said, free medicines and services are being provided to TB patients in the state, and to ensure proper nutrition, the government is offering Rs 500 per month to each patient.
Additionally, TB champions will receive Rs 300 as an honorarium every month.
Furthermore, the state government has developed a plan, outlined in the Vision Document, to provide support to TB patients throughout their treatment. FD PD JK
