Tripura CM to lay foundation stone for freedom fighters

Agartala, July 11 (FD) Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha will lay the foundation stone for a memorial as a mark of respect to 50 freedom fighters of the state at Nabincharra in Sabroom subdivision of South Tripura district on July 14, official sources said today.

“This is a part of the Azadi ki Amrit Mahotsav and beginning of the 75 years of India’s independence.  75 border villages of the state would be named after the freedom fighters of the state. I have visited nabincharra for finalization of the location”, District Magistrate of South Tripura, Saju Vaheed told reporters in Sabroom.

He said, to mark the occasion different programmes like bicycle rally, a marathon runs and a cultural functions  will be held in 13 villages of the district till August 15 after laying of the foundation stone. FD JK
