Agartala, May 04 (FD) Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha of Tripura criticised the former Left Front government, accusing them of imposing atheism on the people and introducing foreign ideas into the state. Speaking at a state-level orientation programme for AYUSH Community Health Officers, the CM emphasised that Tripura had been subjected to an atheist environment for 35 years until the BJP-led government took charge in 2018.
Dr. Saha highlighted the significance of religion in people's lives, asserting that everyone has their own faith and that nobody can live without God. He stated that even doctors, when entering the operating theatre, remember God as part of their culture and tradition. The CM lamented that the previous government had neglected these values and attributed the current restlessness in society, including addiction issues among the youth, to the influence of foreign ideas.
In addition to discussing religion, the Chief Minister also emphasised the importance of Ayush healthcare, which encompasses allopathy, homoeopathy, and ayurveda. He mentioned that the state government has introduced various changes in the public healthcare system to provide treatment according to these different protocols. Dr. Saha expressed his government's commitment to making homoeopathy as popular as other divisions of the health department and revealed plans to establish a homoeopathy college in Tripura.
Furthermore, the CM acknowledged the efforts of the Ayush Ministry in expanding its activities since 2014, which have benefited Tripura and the wider region. He expressed the government's determination to restore India's past glory as a destination for students from around the world seeking to learn medical science and other academic subjects.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Tripura aims to create an environment of believers while promoting Ayush healthcare and the revival of traditional practises. The state government's endeavours seek to enhance the overall well-being of its citizens and inspire a healthy lifestyle. FD JK
