Agartala, Jan 02 (FD) Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha reviewed the progress of the preparations for the two Rath Yatras to be launched from two different places of the state, which would be inaugurated by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, sources close to Dr. Saha said.
The Home Minister will arrive in the state on January 5 next to flag-off the ‘Jan Viswas Yatra’, a week-long Ratha Yatra of Bharatiya Janata Party to seek blessings of the common masses before the assembly elections in state slated for February next.
The Ratha Yatra will be flagged-off from Dharmanagar in North Tripura istrict and Sabroom in South Tripura districts on the same days and Shhah is also scheduled to address two public ralliesthere.
Dr Saha visited both the locations and inspected the progress of preparations.
Besides, the Chief Minister also visited a Party office in North Tripura, which is under constructions.
“To strengthen the public health system, the present state government is working on a set of plans to improve infrastructure in various district hospitals,” Dr Saha, who visited the hospital during his stay in North Tripura district on Monday said. He inquired about health services there.
Dr Saha was accompanied by BJP state general secretary Tinku Roy while visiting both the venues on Monday and reviewed the preparations including security arrangements.
Information and Cultural Affairs Minister Sushanta Chowdhury and MLA Sankar Roy accompanied the Chief Minister during his visit to Melar Math in Sabroom.
The Ratha Yatras will cover all 60 assembly constituencies of the state.
Union Minister for Women and Child Development, Smriti Irani and BJP national president J.P. Nadda would attend the closing ceremony of the Ratha Yatra here on January 12 next, the party sources said.
