Agartala, May 20 (FD) A high-level Task Monitoring System meeting was held at the state secretariat on Wednesday through video conferencing to review Tripura’s overall administrative situation, healthcare services, infrastructure development, and law-and-order conditions. Chief Minister Manik Saha instructed officials at all levels of the administration to work in a more active, responsible, and coordinated manner on issues related to public welfare.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister made it clear that the government would maintain a zero-tolerance policy against crime and illegal drugs. He directed law-enforcement agencies to intensify anti-drug operations across the state and emphasized strict legal action against dishonest medicine traders involved in unlawful activities.
The Chief Minister also reviewed the functioning of several hospitals, particularly in Dharmanagar, Kumarghat, and Belonia. Discussions focused on healthcare services, infrastructure, and medical management, with necessary instructions issued to improve facilities and patient care. He also reviewed the measles situation in different districts and assessed the progress of vaccination programmes. Officials were directed to ensure that AIDS patients are brought under proper medical treatment and care.
Special attention was given to the case of a differently-abled girl from Sepahijala district who requires treatment at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences. The Chief Minister instructed the concerned departments to take immediate steps to facilitate her treatment.
The meeting further discussed the maintenance and monitoring of government homes and rehabilitation facilities. Progress of the rehabilitation centre under construction at Bishramganj was also reviewed.
Addressing drinking water concerns ahead of the dry season, Dr. Saha instructed officials to remain alert to prevent any water crisis in the state. He stressed the timely completion of works under the Jal Jeevan Mission while maintaining quality standards.
Infrastructure and transport development were also major topics of discussion. The Chief Minister ordered continued monitoring of stone-laden vehicles and directed authorities to ensure transparency and quality in the construction and repair of national highways and Bailey bridges. He also emphasized rapid repair of roads damaged during the monsoon season and directed departments to maintain cleanliness and ensure timely garbage disposal across the state.
The meeting additionally reviewed development of schools, educational environments, and land-related issues. The Chief Minister instructed authorities to accelerate development work at the Tripura Sundari Temple and surrounding areas.
Senior officials, including secretaries from multiple departments, district magistrates, police superintendents, and other officers from all eight districts, attended the meeting virtually.
In another major initiative aimed at strengthening public outreach, Dr. Saha announced the introduction of a virtual platform under the “Mukhyamantri Samipeshu” programme. The initiative will allow citizens from different parts of Tripura to directly present their grievances and concerns from their respective districts through virtual participation.
During the latest programme, residents from Dhalai district joined virtually and shared their problems with the Chief Minister. He instructed the concerned officials to take immediate and necessary steps for resolving the issues raised by the participants. FD JK
