Tripura CM opens final match of ‘Atal Smriti Knockout Football’, Jagannathpur FC clinches title

Agartala, Sep 14 (FD) Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha has inaugurated the final match of ‘Atal Smriti Knockout Football Tournament-2022 at Fatikrai Higher Secondary School ground under Kumarghat Sub-division on Tuesday.

Jagannathpur FC clinched the title defeating Darchoi FC by 2-0 goals.

Total 16 teams participated in the tournament started on August 16 last. Sports Minister Sushanta Chowdhury had inaugurated the tournament.

Dr Saha in his inaugural speech said, “We are familiar with the sports from our childhood. Football is special among several other sports.”

Local MLA Sudhanshu Das delivered the inaugural speech.

Along with others, Unakoti Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati Amalendu Das, TITC Chairman Tinku Roy, Unakoti District Magistrate and SDPO attended the final match.

Earlier, during his Kumarghat tour, the Chief Minister visited Bhabatarini temple and offered puja there. He was accompanied by Labour Minister Bhagaban Chandra Das.
