Tripura CM meets Union Home Minister in Delhi, proposes two more IR battalions for state

Agartala, Sep (FD) Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha during his stay in the national capital met Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday and held discussion on matters related to the interest of the state.
In the meeting, Dr Saha held discussion on several issues related to the interest of the state and proposed setting up of two more India Reserve battalions in the state.
In a social media post Dr Saha wrote, “It is proposed to set up two more IR battalions in the state.”
Besides, other important issues were discussed in the meeting.
The Union Home Minister has extended assurances of providing necessary assistance,” Dr Saha wrote in his social media post.
Later on the day, the Chief Minister also met Union Minister for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), Culture and Tourism G. Kishan Reddy in New Delhi.
During the meeting, Dr Saha held a detailed discussion with Reddy on preserving and developing the tourism industry and the heritage and culture of the state.
In a social media post, Dr Saha wrote, “A detailed discussion was held with him with the aim of preserving and developing the tourism industry and the heritage and culture of the state. I am happy that Hon'ble Union Minister has assured all kinds of support for the development of the state.”
