Agartala, Aug 4 (FD) Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha is scheduled to visit New Delhi, where discussions on organisational matters and preparations for upcoming elections are expected to feature prominently during his engagements.
Speaking about his visit, Saha said trips to the national capital are a routine part of his responsibilities and are undertaken to discuss organisational affairs, workshops and other upcoming programmes.
"We make regular trips to Delhi for such matters. We go there to discuss organisational issues, upcoming workshops and other activities. That is why I am going," the Chief Minister told reporters.
Saha said no formal agenda had been communicated for the visit and that the details would become clear after his arrival in New Delhi.
"There is no specific agenda announced so far. We will know more once we get there," he said.
However, the Chief Minister indicated that the forthcoming elections were likely to be a key topic of discussion during his meetings with the party leadership.
"It is highly likely that we will discuss the upcoming elections, particularly the strategy and preparations required to handle them. That is the purpose of the visit—nothing else," Saha said.
His remarks come at a time when political parties in Tripura are stepping up organisational activities and preparing for a series of upcoming elections. The Delhi visit is therefore expected to focus on strengthening organisational coordination, reviewing election preparedness and formulating strategies for the forthcoming electoral contests. FD JK
