Agartala, Mar 18 (FD) Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Saturday launched a special health drive- ‘Mukhyamantri Susthyo Shoishab Susthyo Koishor Abhiyan (MSSSKA) 4.0’ at Sabroom.
Three phases of this campaign have already been successfully completed. The fourth campaign launched by the chief minister would continue across the state in two phases—March 20 to 23 in the first phase and March 24 to March 28 in the second phase.
“It is not possible to move society forward if human body and mind are not healthy. It is for this purpose that the Chief Minister's Healthy Childhood, Healthy Adolescence campaign was launched in the state,” Dr Saha said after launching the health drive.
Addressing the gathering he said, the state aims to cover 12 lakh children under this campaign.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister appreciated the active role of Balikamanch in South Tripura district to prevent child marriage and teenage pregnancy.
The Health and Family Welfare Department, Education Department and Social Welfare and Social Education Department jointly organized the drive in the Southern Town Hall of Sabroom.
All the schools, colleges, Anganwadi Centres and technical institutions would be covered in the phase while the drive would be carried out in brick kilns, tea gardens and slum areas and door-to-door visits would be conducted in the second phase, the NHM mission director told reporters.
Health Secretary Dr. Debashis Basu, NHM Tripura Mission director Subhashis Das, State Immunization Officer Dr. Mousumi Sarkar and other dignitaries were present in the programme.
The Chief Minister and other officials sought cooperation from all for implementing the special health campaign.
Later, the Chief Minister chaired a review meeting along with the officials of South Tripura district administration at the conference hall of Sabroom Nagar Panchayat.
He asked the officials concerned to further accelerate the pace of various developmental works in the district.
Besides, he also inspected Anganwadi centre, an old refugee camp at Kathalchari in Sabroom and inquired about various matters. FD PD
