Agartala, Oct 03 (FD) Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha of Tripura has commended the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for 'Project DEEPAK' by Assam Rifles in collaboration with Axis Bank and NIEDO (North East India Development Organization). The ceremony took place at the 21st Assam Rifles office in Agartala.
The collaborative initiative, known as 'Project DEEPAK,' launched by Assam Rifles, aims to prepare economically disadvantaged students in Tripura for various competitive entrance examinations.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha commended the project's objectives, drawing inspiration from the 'Super 30' project initiated by the Department of Education in the state.
The 'Super 30' project in Tripura provides special coaching to economically underprivileged but talented students, particularly those aspiring for NEET or JEE courses after completing their higher secondary education.
Dr. Saha lauded the initiative and highlighted the importance of combining quality education with employment opportunities. He expressed his delight that Assam Rifles, in collaboration with Axis Bank and NIEDO, is taking steps to support meritorious but economically disadvantaged students in Tripura.
Under 'Project DEEPAK,' 30 students from disadvantaged backgrounds will receive fully residential facilities, including free education and coaching.
The selection process for these students will commence with an exam in October 2023. This innovative endeavor aims to bridge educational disparities and contribute to the progress of the region. FD SB
